Children of the Arctic is a portrait of five Native Alaskan teenagers coming of age at America's northernmost edge. As their climate and culture undergo profound changes, they strive to be both modern American kids and the inheritors of an ancient whaling culture.
The documentary won the Golden Eye Jury Award at its world premiere at the Zurich Film Festival. The film also won the award for Best Documentary at its US premiere at the Santa Barbara International Film Festival, a Green Planet award at the Rhode Island International Film Festival, and the Grand Jury Award at the Guam International Film Festival, among many other awards.
